Personal data protection policy
Last updated: 10 September 2026
In short. This site asks for no sign-up and no account. You can read all of it without giving us a single piece of data.
If you message us on WhatsApp or by email, we receive whatever you write. If you fill in the consumption survey, we receive your name and email. In the savings calculator the calculation happens in your browser; something only reaches us if you ask to see the full breakdown, and then we receive what you typed into that form along with the result you got.
We use measurement cookies only if you accept them in the notice that appears when you arrive. If you decline, the site works just the same.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Mistral, based at Barrio el Bosque, Trv 54 23, 116 Sector, San Isidro, Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.
- Email: juan.morales@mistralenergia.co
- Phone and WhatsApp: +57 312 3229908
This policy is governed by Colombian Law 1581 of 2012, Decree 1377 of 2013 and the other Colombian rules on personal data protection.
2. What we collect and why
It depends entirely on what you do on the site. There is no silent collection of contact details: if you do not write to us, we have no way of identifying you.
| When | What we receive | What for |
|---|---|---|
| You message us on WhatsApp or by email | Your number or email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message | Replying, preparing a proposal and following up |
| You fill in the consumption survey | Name, email, client type and the appliances you declare | Estimating your consumption and sending you the result |
| You use the savings calculator without asking for the breakdown | Nothing. The calculation happens in your browser; what you type is stored only on your own device so you need not type it again | — |
| You ask to see the full savings breakdown | Name, email, phone if you give it, and the result you got (city, bill, roof area and the estimated system). If you marked your roof on the map, also its location (the outline coordinates) and a satellite photo of that area | Sending you the report if you asked for it, and being able to discuss your project |
| You use the roof measuring tool | Nothing reaches our servers while you measure (the roof you mark is only sent to us if you then ask for the breakdown), but the address you search is sent to OpenStreetMap to locate it on the map (see point 4) | Finding your roof on the satellite image |
| You simply browse | Page visited, referring site, language, device type and an anonymous identifier | Knowing which pages are useful and which are not |
About that "anonymous identifier"
Our own measurement does not store your IP address. It turns it into an irreversible code that also changes every day, so that not even we can link your visits on one day to those on the next, or identify you from it. It exists to count visitors, nothing more.
3. Cookies
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. The ones we use fall into two groups:
- Essential. They remember your decision about this very notice and what you typed into the calculator. Without them the site does not work properly, and they are not used to track you or for advertising.
- Measurement and advertising. Google Analytics and Google Ads. They tell us how many people arrive, from which advert, and what they do next. These are only switched on if you press "Accept" in the notice that appears on your first visit.
If you choose "Only essential", Google stores no cookies on your device and does not identify you. You can change your mind at any time by clearing the site data in your browser; the notice will appear again on your next visit.
4. Who it is shared with
We do not sell personal data to anyone, nor pass it on for others to advertise to you. The only third parties involved are the providers that make the site work:
- Google (Analytics and Ads) — measurement of the site and of our campaigns, only if you accepted cookies. Their privacy policy.
- OpenStreetMap and Esri — they find the address and serve the satellite image in the roof measuring tool. They receive the address you type and the map area you look at, not your name or contact details.
- Bluehost — hosting for the site and the email.
- WhatsApp (Meta) — if you choose that channel to write to us.
Some of these providers are outside Colombia, so using them involves an international transfer of data. By accepting cookies or writing to us through those channels, you authorise that transfer.
5. How long we keep it
- Conversations and proposals: for as long as the commercial relationship lasts and up to five years afterwards, for accounting and tax obligations.
- Survey results and savings calculations carrying your contact details: up to two years, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Our own site measurement: anonymous monthly records, with no expiry, because they no longer identify anyone.
6. Your rights
As the owner of your data, Colombian law gives you the right to:
- Know what data of yours we hold and how we use it.
- Ask us to correct it if it is wrong or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete it, unless a legal obligation prevents us.
- Withdraw the authorisation you gave us.
- File a complaint with the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce.
To exercise any of them, an email to juan.morales@mistralenergia.co saying what you need is enough. No particular form or justification is required.
We answer enquiries within ten working days and complaints within fifteen working days, as the law requires. If we need longer, we tell you before the deadline expires and explain why.
7. Minors
The site is aimed at businesses and adults. We neither ask for nor seek data from minors. If any reaches us by mistake, we delete it as soon as we notice.
8. Changes to this policy
If what we do with data changes, this page changes, and with it the date at the top. Substantive changes are also announced on the site.
Any questions about your data? Write to juan.morales@mistralenergia.co or via WhatsApp. We answer just as we would any other question.
